Another "JAMin ATC

Wow, two posts in one week!!  I'm on a roll!
This ATC/JAM is called "Denim & Pearls"
It came out really well, don't you think?!

I also have a gift that I made for a "Secret Sister" but I can't show it to you because she may pop on over to take a peak and I don't want to ruin the surprise. So I'm going to have to wait until after December 17th.
Stay tuned.

It's been a while - sit back, I've got a lot to show you!!

Well Hello there!  It's been a while.  My bad!
Well Now that I'm here I have a few things to share with you.  First off, I found out two weeks ago that I am completely CANCER FREE!!!  WOOHOO!!!  Yes, THAT is a very BIG load off my shoulders. I am having my port taken out this Friday and that is the last procedure to be completed!  I still need to have a bone density test done, and reconstruction, but WHO CARES!  NO MORE CANCER!!

So now on to some fun stuff---
I received a card from my childhood friend, Evelyn.  See her BLOG HERE she does AH-MAZING work! This is the card she sent me!

Isn't this the Sweetest!!  She's very talented, you should check out her blog,
really.
Well, not right now but when you are finished here.

Over at Splitcoaststampers, I had finished some more JAMS and here they are:

This one is "The Raven - Nevermore"  I gave it the title of "Lost Lenore"
My contribution was Lenore in the middle and the black lace.
I really like the way it came out, a little Gothic but not too much.

We are doing an alphabet series and this is - "C" is for -
I did the Frazzled Cat, because that's how I'm feeling right now.

This was for Snowman Group 2
When I received it, the poor snowman was naked! So I gave him buttons, eyes,  a nose, a scarf, a hat and "antler arms" made from a Martha Stewart snowflake punch.
He looked kind of lonely so I also stamped the trees.  Then they looked naked!
So I dressed them up with stickles.
Stickles and brads seem to have been my - go to - embellishments lately.

Ooops, I forgot to rotate this one.  These next pictures are from a Calendar w/inchies swap I did, again at Splitcoaststampers.  This one was for - April.
I don't remember who's background paper I used, but I thought it looked like abstract rain.  Yes, that's what I'm going with.  Abstract.

These two were for - June
The "inchies" on these were clip art that I had from PCCrafter - they are no longer in business.  Boy am I glad I had paid extra to have all of my orders put on disc's!  I then used Diamond Glaze over the image to make it look more like a tile, and used - yep, platinum stickles to boarder it.

This one was for, wait for it -- October!
October was interesting,  I saw an image like this somewhere on the internet and then everything just fell into place.  I believe the image is from PCCrafter again.  I put flower soft on the leaves to give them dimension.  I never used flower soft before and had picked up a couple of jars in various colors from my LSS that they had on clearance.  I kind of like this medium.  I'm always jumping on the band wagon a little too late.  The calendar and inchie are on vellum. the pumpkins are distressed with ink and punched from a very old punch I had.  The stem is chocolate twine that I found at Wal-Mart.  The inchie is bordered with a green stickle.

I did one for December, but I can't find the picture.  I went with a RETRO theme.

Another one I forgot to turn.  Good grief!  I think I'm tired, I mean after all it's 1:36am!!

These two cards are from another swap I was in.  It was called "PAT's, Pick A Theme.  This was a challenge version.  You had to use specific colors, you had to pick a "Wacky Holiday" from November, add the number (date) of the holiday and use melted crayons!

The top picture, the "grass" was the melted crayon and in the bottom picture I melted the crayon on whisper white and then punched a circle with in a circle and SU's large snowflake punch to make the "peace" symbol.  I then ran the pieces through my small XRYON to make them into stickers!  (Love that little machine!)  Brads were used for the obligatory embellishment. :)

===========================================

This is an ATC that I received from my Cyber Friend Marci over at SCS.  She, like Evelyn, sent me these congratulatory cards.  Isn't this one AWESOME!  I love all the little things she added to it!!
I am truly Blessed to have such great friends!

==================================================
We are coming to the end, I promise!

I have to show you the Thank you card I made for my husband to send.  His birthday was In October and he needed a few TY cards.  He likes Owls, so...
You gotta love that SU owl Punch!!

===================================================

Almost the last picture -
this year's Thanksgiving Card!
TA DA!!

It was inspired by Evelyn's Turkey post.  I used my Cricut for this one, Some ink for distressing, Some SU Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, black slick paint, and yes some stickles.  The patterned paper is SU's Autumn Vine, it's retired and it's too bad too because I love this paper.  The wording on the front and in the "frame" on the inside is from the computer and the "Keep Calm and" is a stamp from SU.  It came out pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

=======================================================================
Now for the last picture of the night, or morning... or whatever...
Our first snowfall of the season!!!
And yes, this is Texas and people did freak,
a little,
but it was over almost as soon as it started.
But I'm happy I stayed up to see it.

Ok, that's it - now I'm going to bed and you need to go to Evelyn's Blog!

Thanks for looking!   Leave a comment if you'd like!

Not just cards...

I do other things as well.  Counted Cross Stitch for one.  I absolutely love it, however, my eyes would disagree.

This is one that I have been working on for a few years. It's one of those, work on it; put it away; then take it out again.  All I need to do is add our last name and the year we were married and it's finished.
I have no idea why I'm dragging my feet on it.

I have more to show you, including the piece I entered in this years "State Fair of Texas", it won a third place ribbon!!  I'll have to post it next time, it's 12:26am and I can't keep my eyes open.

Stop on back in a day or so.  Thanks for looking!

Happy Tuesday!

My original goal was to post something every Monday.  However, I'm here now and that's what counts.  I have been working on my JAMS over at SplitcoastStampers and wanted to post some that I have worked on. So here we go~~
"Bees"
I did the hive.

This one was "Thrift Shop Day"
My instructions were to use what ever you had, not to buy anything. I think it came out pretty good.

"Wedding"
My part is the "I Do".

Thank You
Mine are the flowers.

"Summer Vacation"
My contribution was the "Spanish Proverb" actually it's my Mantra!

This is my first Zetti!!  I did the body and skirt.

"Halloween/Bones"
My contribution was the spider embossed with silver.

"FALLing Leaves"
I did the punched leaves that are in the lower right corner.

"Trees"
I did the clouds and embossed sun.

"Joan Rivers" Tribute
I did the - "Can we tawk?"
I'm originally from NJ so - "tawk" - is technically NOT an insult.

"Torn Paper"
I did the clouds and added stickles.

My Second Zetti - I did the arms and called her
"The JAMS Diva"

"Watercolor"
I did a rainbow sunset - I though this one came out very well.

"Swimsuits"
I was #1 so I only did the background.

These were a lot of fun.
I have a few more I need to post
and some ROLO Dividers that I did for another swap
as well as some more specific ATC's.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Monday~~~
I was planning on posting a bunch of the ATC's that I've worked on over at SplitcoastStampers, but I haven't uploaded them from my camera yet.  So hopefully later today I can get to that.  For right now, I have to tell you that I submitted a "Topic" for the ATC JAM group that I'm in.  I had no rhyme or reason as to why I submitted it, it just popped into my head.  So, I was kinda worried that no one would sign up for it, so I created my own Limerick.

Here it is:

To me it fits like a glove.

Many a day

I toil and play,

While my household I’m not proud of.

I'm a little bit proud of it, and can't wait to see what everyone does with it.

Well, I have to go and get some more JAMS done and maybe, just maybe clean my house... a little...we will see... but I'm guessing not.

Happy Halloween 2014

Happy First Day of FALL, ya'll!

Here in Texas we are getting a taste of cooler temps.  This week is suppose to be in the upper 80's and no one can be more excited than I am!!  AC - OFF, WINDOWS - OPEN, FALL cleaning here we come.  This year I am going to assign each household member a thorough, deep cleaning job to help out. I want no stone unturned, no cobweb left behind and all those pesky cat hair-balls captured!  Since having breast cancer, my stamina is not up to par yet, so I need some serious help.  Two of our boys live home so, like it or not, they are going to do the climbing and lifting!

OK, so that's the plan.  Now on to more fun stuff.  Over at SplitcoastStampers, I belong to a SWAP group called JAMs III.  An ATC swap  (Just Add one More) that consists of 4 players adding one or two things to the ATC card and sending them on to the next player.  I am shamelessly addicted.  I know that you are expecting my Halloween card for this year, but I have to tell you how it came to be.

It stated with the sign-up of the Halloween JAM. I am first in line so it was my duty to make the tracking (address list and who sends to whom) the backer card and the background card. So I was searching the internet for some inspiration, and came across this poem.

Isn't it cute! Then I remembered that I had a witch stamp from SU! That would go perfectly, and an Owl stamp from Paper Smooches that would go well, umm, as well.

Then I realized that the poem took up most of the ATC and I got a little carried away with it.

So I started adding layers and the Owl stamp

And my Halloween card was born! TA DA!

I really like how it turned out, isn't the witch adorable.  When I bought this set, I wasn't sure if I would ever use it, but I needed some Halloween stamps.  Now I'm glad I did.  I think this is  retired  but they have a new set in the Holiday Catalog.

So here is the Recipe I used:
  1. STAMP SETS - SU! Googly Ghouls, Paper Smooches - Chubby Chums
  2. CARDSTOCK - (ALL SU!) Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Green Galore(ret), Gable Green(ret), More Mustard
  3. DSP - Misc. scraps
  4. INK - Versamark (for  embossing), Su! refills (for "painting the Owl) Only Orange, Crushed Curry, Baked Brown Sugar, Creamy Caramel
  5. MISC. - SU! Black Embossing Powder, SU! Googly Eyes, SU! Deminsionals (to pop up the witch) Ribbon - American Crafts - Gold Glitter, Stickles - Orange, Lime Green, Patina, Spellbinders - Circle Framelit Die (for the "moon" the Owl is stamped on), Verse - internet, Font - "Chiller"
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

I am still trying to get used to this blogging thing.  It's going to take me some time to figure out all the bells and whistles.

I've been making ATC cards and Birthday cards like crazy, this month I sent out 27 Birthday cards.  Whew! I did make more than I needed just in case.  I use white cardstock from WalMart for my card base, it's fairly good quality, a whole lot cheaper than from a SB store and works very well as the base.

This is my version of Lorri Heiling's card, I like taking something that is already done and putting my personal spin on it. Just scroll down the page, you'll get to it.  She has such neat cards on her blog.

Well, Sunday is coming to a close - I hope you all had a great weekend.  We are looking forward to the cooler temperatures coming this week.

My next post will be my Halloween card, I know it's still September.  I was working on a Halloween ATC but realized that my design wouldn't work, so I turned it into a card.  Twenty cards later...

Testing, testing, one two

This is my very first blog post.  .  .

I'm not sure what to write about.  let's see, hmm.  Well, I've been wanting a blog for quite some time now. My problem was that I couldn't come up with a name for it.  I think this title is so very accurate and describes me perfectly.  Lately I haven't been able to shut my brain off and my hands jump on the bandwagon, and before you know it, it's a party!  My body however, protests profusely and then there's arguing and, well, it's just not pretty, at all.  Like tonight, or should I say this morning, it's 4:32am and I should be sleeping. Ahhh, the ever eluding, sleep.

So, since I'm up and working on a headache, I think I will play around some, and see how much I can learn, and how much of THAT I can retain!
